Popfolio : Who is behind it?

Popfolio, founded by Hardesh Singh & Adam William, is a portfolio of pop-centric virtual estates. Its current network includes the Popfolio.net social music network, the Poptopus widget and PopTeeVee.

  • Hardesh Singh is a music producer turned technopreneur who holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering. He began his music career 7 years ago as founder of 'The 50 Cents Jazz Club', a progressive jazz band that earned a reputation for its genre defying music.

Hardesh founded SoundWorks Productions in 2003, carving a name for himself locally and internationally with albums for local pop, rock and R&B artists as well as remix releases in Germany. He has scored for numerous commercials and international award-winning films.

In 2007, he co-founded Popfolio Sdn Bhd, a semi-stealth technology startup focusing on developing solutions to help humanity traverse and exploit the limitless possibilities of the new information age. Hardesh was recently selected as one of 10 finalists from emerging economies for the International Young Music Entrepreneur 2008 award organised by the British Council.

  • Adam William is Popfolio's co-founder and Director of Technology. His key strength is in understanding both clients and technology and being able to fit the two together in a solution that works. This unique combination of talents has seen his IT projects range from e-learning in Singapore, to psychometric testing and logistics in Australia, to Flash gaming and business brokerage in the USA, to real estate and immigration in the UK and of course Popfolio's innovative new media platforms that reach from Malaysia across the globe.

Adam is responsible for the development, integration, deployment and maintenance of the technologies that underpin the pioneering Popfolio.net, Poptopus and Popteevee platforms.

A one-time wannabe musician who learnt the piano, keyboards and guitar, he realised he was never going to be a Hero so aced himself an engineering degree from the University of Tasmania instead. He now plays Jam Legend online. As a kid, he was once told that he would someday be worth millions of dollars to someone. He is still searching for that someone.
